PURPOSE: to increase the knowledge, skills, and abilities of MDH staff to jointly develop public health processes, products, and policies with community partners. (From the 2015 - 2019 MDH Community Engagement Plan)

We hope this Community Engagement Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Assessment will help you to advance health equity by understanding key competencies for authentic engagement. Taking the assessment as an individual employee is a valuable tool for professional growth. Taking the assessment as a team can lead to insights to workforce development across MDH. We hope this KSA can eventually be expanded to include local-level public health agency staff as well.

The survey should take 15-20 minutes to complete.
Individual responses will remain anonymous. To score your assessment, you will need to print your responses before submitting the survey. You can then use the scoring sheet to help you tabulate your self-assessment score.  For teams taking the assessment, please consult with Sida Ly-Xiong in the Community Engagement Unit of Public Health Practice to understand your scores.
