The 2015 Pedal MN Bicycle Conference is supported by Explore Minnesota Tourism, the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota, Parks and Trails Council, National Park Service, and the Minnesota Departments of Health, Natural Resources, and Transportation.

The 2015 Pedal MN Bicycle Conference, in Minneapolis on May 4-5, 2015, is seeking breakout session proposals. The theme of the conference is "Building a Bike Friendly StateSM." We are looking for communities and partnerships interested in sharing stories of how they are building a better place to bike--through better planning, policies, infrastructure, events and strategic funding. Bicycling promotes and supports local economies, tourism, the environment, and health improvement. Share what you're doing in your community to get more people on bikes more often at the 2015 Pedal MN Bicycle Conference.

Share what will help participants achieve one or more of the following objectives:

     - Recognize appropriate infrastructure, including wayfinding treatments to create better places for bicycling.
     - Describe the importance of planning for better places to bicycle.
     - Identify how to engage in the process of who applies and is eligible for funding for better places to bicycle.
     - Explain the importance of policies that support safer places for bicycling at the local, regional, and state level and how to build support through public engagement.
     - Develop strategies for promoting and encouraging all types of biking whether for leisure, commuting, or physical activity.

Proposals are due Monday, December 1, 2014. For more information, contact Michelle Pooler at michelle.pooler@state.mn.us or 651-366-4167.
